In one of the most unsurprising moves, the NSA has deleted “Honesty” and “Openness” from their Core Values statement on their official website. Below you’ll see the original mission statement. Notice the entire honesty section, and openness to the public.

Other than “the public’s need for openness” and “honesty” being removed. The biggest change I notice is that instead of respecting the public, they’ve switched it to respect for themselves and their employees. I guess the NSA’s employees are more important to the people that pay their salaries – the tax paying public. None of us can be surprised about this. On the bright side at least they are still “transparent” about not being honest. Is that a catch 20/20?
